  Cheyenne Mountain taunts me. Every time I look out of my window it's there. We didn't get to go due to the Military not being able to do background checks on us as we're not citizens. So we went up Pikes Peak instead and I took lots of photographs. One of the cooler things about that trip was that when we reached the peak, 14110ft above sea level, the first thing we saw was a jet fighter fly past - just below our eye level. The other cool thing was a group of humvees we saw parked along the way.
There are some slight personality conflicts beginning to emerge between the rest of the group and I, or at least that is my perception. I'm usually wrong or blow these things entirely out of proportion. As you may or may not know sometimes small things irritate me and childishly I get caught up on them. :/ There isn't many in the group that I can relate to. That's not a new thing; I shouldn't expect these people to be different from any others. I'll just keep my head down and try to do the best I can. I am enjoying most of the training we're getting. Particularly this week where the material was mostly technical, some pretty hardcore stuff too.
Lots of people have been commenting on my lack of updates since I've been here. Been busy. There is a computer room in the Hotel but I don't like to feel like I'm hogging it. Now there are two terminals in that room so I don't feel so bad. I have access in work of course and I do send occasional emails, but I don't normally have time to sit down and write. It's now Friday evening and the most of the rest of the group are gone to what has become their regular Friday night haunt; a karaoke bar not far from here to get gloriously drunk. I prefer to sit in and wade thru 60 cable channels. Sometimes in the evenings I go out for a skate.
I'm planning a trip to Toronto in September. There are lots of people there that I want to see and I don't know when I will be this close again. My troublesome tooth has gotten better. I can feel a slight movement of the placement of teeth in my jaw but apart from that it has mostly cleared up.
There is a really sweet laptop available on an employee deal here. I'm almost popping out of my skin the deal is so unbelievably good. The deal is so good I'll also be able to get an (also heavily reduced) iPaq. Cool beans!

It's a good laptop, apart from being a compaq of course :-D
BTW! Come to Toronto while i'm here! *sob* I leave the 22nd.

Nice laptop, just remember to remap the keyboard. Nothing worse than the US layout, well perhaps the Franch layout!

One thing to watch out is the weight of the thing, I've had to lug my fair share of laptops through airports and anything over 5lbs can become quite a chore.

If yer man in Wargames can get in and out of Cheyenne Mountain with out much problem surely you should be able to as well ;]

Only difference in UK and US layout seems to be the location of @, \ and " Which isn't a problem and I've become used to them since I've been over here.
Regarding weight, it has to be said that you're a lazy sod with when it comes to laptop weight :) I'm not too worried about airports since I don't think traveling will be an issue unless HPQ are picking up the bill again.
